Ion Intensive Shine Hair Color Kits

While working with Zielinski Design we were contracted to develop the look and feel for the Ion® Intensive Shine Hair Color Kits. This line would feature 27 different hair color shades in 5 different shades families. These hair color boxes had to stand out from the other brands on the shelf and have a lasting design. The process was to look at what other brands have done an elevate it to the next level in while staying true to the Ion® family. I art directed and developed several different design concepts and presented them to the client for them to select the winning concept. Once they selected our design it was revised per Sally Beauty’s legal team. I hand illustrated the icons for the directions on the box and the directions insert. I also selected the images for each box and retouched each one to match the hair color. The boxes had several different finished on the boxes to add spot uv and metallic finishes to selected areas while having a soft touch to the rest of the box.
